Roster changes todae.

No off on monday for me.
Thus anader 5 daes of werk, before I finalli gets DO on sat.
(dats hopefully if dere's no changes again.)
that will be 17 daes of werk straight!
Sister thinks we're Superwomen or wad?

Todae the big shot authorities all forget to tke meds.
Consultant insults us nurses over pea-sized matter and demands incident report raised.
Sister scolds ppl without first makin' things clear - upset ppl unnecessarily.

We small and new nobodies thus work with mind over matters.
In thru the left, and out thru the right.
No need to get stressed up.
It's just "I'm not puas-ed", even after complaining to Papa Salleh.

Let's call the consultant L. He has to make a big hoo-haa over me not knowin' where we put all our hardly used 50mls syringe, when I very politely and nicely told him I will go search for him at the back store, and asked if it's NGT kinda syringe, he very sacastically say "It's okay. nevermind. means you dont even know where it's kept. I will get it myself". In the end, I brought all the necessary flushin' stuffs with the wrong type of 50mls syringe I kindly bring for him. And he lectured me about syringe tips, (he went to the next ward to borrow when he could have just search the store) he obviously din understand when I asked if it's NGT kind - he din specify -he communication sucks, and he temper slurps. He scolded me, scold my junior, scold his HO, scold ward sister then demands an incident report gets submitted when he sees a 1cm by 1cm skin tear which will heal within 48hrs. He told sister that "your nurses dont even know how to check the urine cath", happens so he found a kink during his round (WOW!). I find it very insulting for him as he himself couldn't differenciate between left and right (he obviously din pay attention in kindergarden), and he temper prolly scared his partners shitless, so no body dare to breathe a single word when he got the op site wrong (they suffered guilt in silent). Now he has to insult ppl to bring up his morale, so that when he gets sued, he can tell the judge that how stupid he find us nurses.

L's one foot into deep shit becos of the mistake he made. He is not happy to step on shit alone, he has to make trouble for nurses so that they step into shit with him. Very likely his temper is what got him into the shit.

11th dae cm.
On the 12th dae, I work starhub.
13th I get off.

I've just gt & got well (gettin') frm cough twice.
I currently tke danzen 2 tabs 3x per dae, & cough lyk I nid 2 hrly suctionin'.
I cant tke my dextromethrophan and paracetamol cos they mke me VERY SLEEPY.
It's nt dat im nt compliant.
I refuse to tke MC, nt to prove dat im strong.

I no longer hear my alarm clock ring in the morning.
usuali, I hear, I snooze.
I'm shagged, but still holdin' on.
& todae, the 9th person quit frm my current ward since our PRCP time.
LOUSY Management - TSK.

A bee flew pass my right ear and DIVED into the wok when I was deep frying food for dinner.
In the end, the bee got fried becos i din know how to react in time.
And it actually "POP-ed".
GROSS!
My reaction was exactly how I would react in A&E when I see a bloody pt coming into resus.
"OMG OMG OMG HOW? HOWWWW?!!"

Ewww. YUCKS & OUCH.
when the oil spatters - piak piak onto my hand when I was cooking.
I was already.. "OUCH!! AWWW!! F***! SHIT!!!"
Can you imagine the pain the bee felt?
My goodness, I feel so sad for the bee.
What could haf happened that made it wanna commit suicide?

My mum very cute, she saw the bee flying ard,
she told the bee "Careful wor.. here got hot oil, dont anyhow fly.."
budden hor, the bee went right in.
I think the bee either cannot understand chinese or is very rebellious.

My cooking is so nice...
My family insisted the food is still edible after we fished out the bee.
But me, I dont dare to eat.
I got false impression that the food taste like the bee.
The oil got bee smell. And the air all got bee smell.
I think Im in after shock, affected psychological.
Very traumatic - I think for the next few days my food will taste like the bee.

P.S: Idk how ppl from otr countries can eat fried cockroaches, scorpions.. CRAPS.

Few months back, no matter how I bloghop, I can nv even finish reading my circle of friends' blogs entries. But recently, I can hop 10 blogs in 2 mins. Is everyone so busy or lazy to blog? I want to blog, but I lose the inspiration to do so. I dont know where to start. Partly at fault - or almost wholely - is my laziness.

Then anader thing, I'm reading Eclipse. 3rd book of Twilight series. My Twilight and New Moon are circulating in the ward. Liyana bought 4 books at one shot. Charmaine's finishing 4th book. Hanisah got 4th book, too today. All crazy about that.

PRCP, the end.
3 friggin' mths passed just like dat.

Reality shock.
If I get a C for my clinical posting.
If I pass my medical checkup.
If my GPA is at 2.
I WILL HAVE TO START WORK ON 6TH APRIL.
dat's what my provisional employment thing says.

I'm not surprised by this news.
This I knew would come.
But not the fact that I would then lose my freedom....
FOREVER.

And get tied down by WORK.

But anyways.

1st night was okay.
During report, one of the patient gave us a box of rochers to share.
I did 1 NGT feed, 1 burette change, 1 extension tubing.
And aft counting down while re-priming anader burette.
Me and Gai watched a few seconds worth of fireworks from afar, at the window.

It was break time ard 0030hrs.
It's 2009.
I went into tea room with the amah.
While she slept, I ate.
And smsed the usual Happy New Year greetings.

Then anader amah came in, and I could see she wanted the lights out.
So, I went back to the ward.
Nurse station it is.
And Phua asked me to go read a book or smthg.
So I did.
It's not that it's not busy.
It IS busy, with all the call bells ringing.
Numeral requests - missy very cold, missy drink water, missy dont want blanket, missy blanket one more - just enough to let me sit down for a while inbetween.
But still, Mabel blogged and bloghop-ed, Gai went frenster, Jamilah online shopped.
And me, I read book, smsed, chitchat.
All these we do during intervals of busying.

And we even talked abit of scary story.
Scary true story.
So in the end, me and jamilah did hypocount tgt instead of one side each as planned.
And still, she ran out immediately from iso aft doing h/c.
Cos she say the patient is givin' her one funny look.
Enough about eerie stuffs.

I quite enjoy night shift though not the little amount of lights.

Since it's the new year.
Of course, there's a need for some resolutions.
- Earn more money
- Save more money
- To buy New moon, Eclipse and Breaking dawn.
- To finish reading Twilight.
- To make sleeping early a habit.
- To treat my resolutions seriously.
- To think of more sensable resolutions.

OH YES.
And I NEED to let everyone know.
Dat, I haf a friend name Myat Thuzar Swe.
She was also on night on 31st Dec.
So she also counted down in the ward.
But she did it in a real ridiculous manner.
As we all know, Ward 7A class B2, each bed has a TV each.
She was changing pampers with an SAN.
And when she heard the TV from the bed beside start to count down..
She left her patient half naked, ran out with her gown,
gloves and mask to "5, 4, 3, 2, 1!! YAYY!!!"

CRAZY GIRL.
Tsktsk.

And thanks to Van and whoever was DAY OFF.
Thanks for callin' on our night shift to make us jealous.
Pfft.

Im doin' my 1st night tonight.
Eager, but not so.
Im spending my 1st seconds of 2009, in the hospital.
When otrs are out there counting down.
There's a countdown at khatib, Nanaz invited me.
But I can't go :(

With this fun I'm gonna miss out.
I shall follow suit what thuzar has planned for herself.
To bring ourselves abit of fun.
Wake all the patients up at 12mn.
And wish everyone of them Happy new year.

And I too decided that, when I go for break.
- in the tearoom.
Wait, before I even say what Im gonna say.
I can already imagine the smug on izyan's face, holdin' back her laugh.
Then I wondered if Fiq done night or not.
If yes, how did he survive? or struggle through?
OH well.
- I shall switch on the lights.
No matter otrs need to sleep or not.
I shall bring sandwiches as an excuse - I need to eat, I can't eat in the dark.
Then I shall READ.
With a book ard, and the Edward in it.
I have nothing to fear.

She was really good at offending ppl, I think.
The Dr. was askin' nicely where to get the vitals and the "in out".
I was back from 2 days off.
Vitals i wasn't sure, all i knew was - it's in the system.
How to check, was a huge question mark for me too.
And "in out".. for a second, I wasn't catchin' wad it was.
I meant, I/O chart.

The minute I registered what it was.
Before I could even answer him.
She barked at me from over 131's bedside, with her impolite stare.
"Serve your medicine, if there's any error whose fault isit?!"
I rolled my eye slightly, away from her.
The Dr. had seen me doing it, and he did the same.
I grinned.

He walked over to her.
He started the question politely.
"Sorry, but where do I get the I/O chart?"
Nice and very polite of a Dr. to do that.
Some could just demand "Where's the I/O?!"
But her reply was rude.
"Can u wait or not? Can't you see i'm givin' antibiotics?!"
She glared at him.
He decided that was it.
He turned away from her.
I could hear him mumble "STUPID" under his breath.

Why can't she be nicer to people?, I thought.
That was her.
I was gettin' used to it.
Since the 3rd week, though I'm still frightened of her.
Thought of being in the same team as her still makes me lose sleep.
But as the staffs told me - Nobody in this ward really bothers abt her. She's like that.

Haha. dat could prolly come from a deprived childhood.

I met up with Yeling and Alfonso aft gg hm to change, aft work.
We ate LJS.
Chit chat and stuffs.

Me and alfonso was supposed to watch Twilight.
But the only show available was at 2130hrs.
It was only 1915hrs then..
Dat would be too late cos alphi had work the next day.
Such a disappointment.

We went to under Yeling's block to hang out.
Aft me and yeling finished our Mac Ice Cream cone.
Yeling was about to go up.
We were idling for a while more...

I saw a figure, quite familiar.
"OH-MY-GOD" came out naturally from me, as I turned away to the otr side.
I just saw V, with his friends - just a few metres away.
My exclaimation was loud enuff for them to turn.
He prolly saw me.
Cos once they were along the road, a few of them turned again.
I saw B there too.

I wasn't afraid of him.
Or them.
I was only afraid of...
not knowing how to react, there.
Not that im not over him.
But, the awkwardness was there.
Especially when B was there, he would make things worst.
As he usually does, I thought.

I suddenly thought this wont be such a safe place for me to hang out anymore.
How sickening!
If we never loved, I wouldnt have to worry this much.
But I din regret lovin' either.

We parted ways, me and my 2 monkey friends.
I was walkin' to the bus interchange.
I was quite late already, and I think dats the last bus.
By the time I go to the MRT station, cfm no train dy.
Then I passed a bush.
And smthg jumped on me.

I felt its teeth sink into my flesh and wouldn't let go.
I struggled.
Pain shoot up from my arm to my neck.
I tried to push it away, but it grabbed tighter.
I pulled it by the neck with my left hand.
And in desperation, I strangled it.
I never thought I would EVER strangle a dog.
It was a rather small dog.
Small but ferocious dog.
It became a little weak, and I dropped it.

Someone came to my aid, chased the dog away.
He caught me just before I fell.
Suddenly, I felt blood oozing out from my arm.
I heard him say some artery or vein tore.
He sat me by the kerb.
I applied pressure.
I saw a laceration, almost my entire arm length.
I could see my radial and ulna.
I held my arm tighter.
The bleeding refused to stop.

I saw him dialling for the ambulance.
What went through my mind was "Die. Im gg to hospital dy".
And with this kind of a laceration, im definitely gonna go emergency op.
I can imagine myself being put under General anasthesia,
I can imagine myself being intubated.
But what the hell, I just ate awhile ago leh..
Confirm aspirate laa like dat.
I can imagine the pain post op.
I can imagine a whole line of sutures.
I can imagine the nurses and doctors reading my case notes.
"Attacked by a stray dog"

Now my right arm is throbbin' like nothing.
My left arm felt sore too, but not as bad I guess.
I felt dizzy as my arms started havin' tingling sensations.
I could still feel the blood flowing out.
I feel cold.
I saw double, blurry vision.
That guy who helped me, and anader guy.
That anader guy was wearing different.
No, no.. I saw triple..
But there was anader 2 guys.
What the hell, why so many guys when I damn unglam.
Dat must be the paramedics.
Who cares, as long as I dont die, I'm fine with it.
They took my bag.
They put me flat on something.
I felt breathless.
I dont know if someone bagged me, or gave me super high dose of oxygen.
I was choking, but I couldn't speak.
I was suffocating, so bad, I wish someone knock me out.
I probably fainted, but I could still feel.
Someone was inserting plug on my left hand.
Someone was bandaging my right.
The pain was radiating to I dont know where.
I felt pain and numbness all over my body.
I felt myself sweat.
Cold sweat.
I am afraid.
I want to cry.
Afraid of what will happen.
Afraid of what will become of me.
And shit, I'm on PM tomorrow. (What a time to think of this).
Probably not so serious, I hope I wont lose my arms.
Guess not, I've seen cases worst then this.

I heard the voice of the guy who saved me.
Ohh. he is in the ambulance with me?!
He damn nice, when I'm okay and back in the ward.
I must find out who he is (:
I heard the paramedic say..
"TTSH, resus, 19yro, female, attacked by dog according to friend, sustained lacerations, excessive bleeding, pt drowsy"
Lolx. so that guy is my friend?! hahax, how come i din know.
This felt like mass casualty come true.

And before I knew it.
I was on the ward bed.
My right arm like ba chiang.
The staff nurse like familiar.
The Assistant nurse also look familiar.
The patient beside my bed, also look familiar.
Oh well, its TTSH mah..
Environment of cos familiar la.
But then again, the ward brother like familiar leh.
I talked to him ytd wadd.
OMG! it's my PRCP ward laa. 12D. O_o

So real, I almost overslept.

But today...

whenever im alone.
I'M SCARED.

Even when I go home, take lift, reached home, bathing.. I also scared ):
I'm not lookin' forward to night shifts anymore.

Headaches, body aches, fever, and a-felt-to-be-very-blocked-sinus.

Before I could get my 38.1 degree celcius reading.
I accidentally broke a mercury thermometer.

And aft clearing up all the glass pieces and stubborn mercury balls, from everywhere.

After lecture finish at 2pm.
it's when we're supposed to go for our class NAP!fa training.
rachael pronounce Napfa as NAP!fa. so well...
my grp has got meeting so,
we were fined 50cents as a group by the "PE teacher" - vannie and president.

those who were goin' were checking out the new lockers.
which we have a FREE 10 bucks to spend.
and it's charged at $1 per hr/locker.
i haf pending 10hrs worth of locker use :)

then we decided, since there are ppl givin' out FREE Coca cola ZERO,
outside north canteen.
might as well.
go take right??
no matter how not nice they all say it taste.
so me and yong hong went.
and we see ppl takin' carton by carton.
so we asked for A CARTON too!
and they give :)
so we carry all the way back to LTK-2 there..

My things end up on the floor when i come back,
